134: Float For Maps Campaign
Ryan Duey from Capitol Floats in Sacramento joins the crew this week to discuss an exciting research project for MAPS, the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies. It’s a non-profit research and educational organization that develops medical, legal, and cultural contexts for people to benefit from the careful uses of psychedelics and marijuana. Their most recent study uses MDMA-assisted psychotherapy as treatment for severe post traumatic stress disorder, and they’re working to raise funds to continue research after their first phase delivered astounding results. (Seriously… at the 12-month follow-up, 68% of participants reported ZERO symptoms of PTSD.)
While not directly impacting the float world, many of our clients could benefit from this new medicine and therapy option. Float center owners who want to get involved to support the research can sign up on the Float for MAPS website.
