The Float Tank Association (FTA) needs your help… and not just helping to decipher all the acronyms you need to know for this episode. The FTA is a volunteer-driven, and is comprised of a handful of float center owners and manufacturers. Together, they create standards to guide health departments and assist float owners in their daily operations.
Shoshana Leibner and the rest of the FTA team have been working to guide the Model Aquatic Health Code (CDC), which could have a big impact on the float world. The MAHC is a set of codes and guidelines, being pushed by the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) for acceptance by the Center for Disease Control (CDC). The NSF is asking for NSF-certified requirements that could lead to expensive equipment requirements for float centers, so all float center owners have a vested interest in what’s happening.
