202: Covid and float with Guest Roy Vore

·

It’s the year that just keeps on giving, float friends! Many areas are starting to see drastic increases in COVID-19 cases again, so it’s time to revisit the state of the float industry and what we should be doing to keep our businesses, our guests, and ourselves safe.

The crew is delighted to have a wildly entertaining disinfection expert with more than 30 years experience in microbiology join us – the one and only Dr. Roy Vore. Roy has made his way from an outsider to one of the beloved personalities in the float world, and while he shares a bit of gloom and doom, he also blesses us with a whole lot of hope and inspiration in this episode.

You’ll hear the latest news about vaccinations and reporting nuances, but you’ll also journey through questions like, “Are our patrons high risk?”, “What’s the best way to minimize our risks?”, “What does Chicago deep dish pizza have to do with infective doses?”. And “Why should I keep my finger out of my nose after cleaning a float suite?”. Dr. Vore shares the two highest risk touchpoints in a float suite, why you might want to extend times between floats, whether or not investing in HEPA filters is a good idea, and what sort of cleaning products are a load of hogwash.
